RRB Group D 2020 Exam Dates, Pattern, Eligibility Criteria, Syllabus, Admit Card

The RRB Group D Exam CBT I is scheduled to be conducted from December 15th 2020 onwards tentatively by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on behalf of the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC). RRB Group D recruitment is conducted to choose eligible candidates for Level-I posts.
  • Track Maintainer Grade-IV
  •  Helper/Assistant
  • Assistant for various technical departments (Mechanical, Electrical, and S&T departments)
  • Assistant Pointsman
  • Level-I posts of 7th CPC Pay Matrix in various departments of Indian Railways.
Approximately 1.15 crore candidates had registered for the RRC Group D exam this year. There are a total of 1,03,769 vacancies which will be filled through RRB Group D exams. The candidates who qualify the exam will be posted in 16 railway zones.

RRB Group D Exam-  Recruitment
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on behalf of the  Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) holds RRB Group D recruitment. The RRB Group D recruitment process is announced by the Railway Board via Railway Group D official notification on the website.
There is no recruitment notification for RRC Group D exam 2020 by the railway board. The current exam that is to be held in December 2020 is for RRB Group D 2019 as the 2019 exam is still in process and the exam is scheduled from  December 15th 2020 tentatively. Candidates who have applied for the RRC Group D 2019 exam are awaiting the admit card that will be issued 10- 15 days before the scheduled exam.

The RRB Group D exam dates are announced with the release of RRB Group D notification. The exam dates for RRB Group D are decided by the Railway Recruitment Board itself.

RRB Group D Exam- Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who wish to appear for RRB Group D examination are required to satisfy certain criteria to be eligible to appear for the Railway Group D exam.
The criteria for RRB Group D eligibility are decided by the conducting body itself. The candidate’s become eligible for RRB Group D exam only when they fulfil the given criteria given below:
  1. Nationality
  2. Age Limit
  3. Qualification
RRB Group D- Nationality
A candidate is eligible to appear for RRB Group D exam only if he/she is:
  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan refugee permanently settled in India from and before January 1, 11962.
  5. A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (B), (C), (D) and (E) present a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India
 
RRB Group D - Age Limit
The Railway Recruitment Board has set the RRB Group D age limit. Candidates should be between 18-33 years. Any candidates who do not fall in this age limit will not be allowed to appear for the examination.
As mentioned in the notification, RRB Group D Age Limit for candidates in the RRB Group D 2020 examination is to be calculated from 1st July 2019.Candidates who have applied for RRB Group D 2020 examination should have their date of birth between 1st July 2019 and the dates given in the table below.
  Certain relaxations are given to candidates belonging to the reserved categories on the RRB Group D Age Limit criteria.

RRB Group D - Educational Qualification
  • Candidates who had completed Class 10th from Institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT were eligible to apply. 
  • ITI was made non-mandatory for Group D recruitment
 
 

RRB Group D - Salary
The recruitment board decides the basic RRB Group D Salary. The initial pay scale of RRB Group D Level 1 employees is ₹18000/ per month based on 7th CPC Pay Matrix for the candidates who have been selected for RRB Group D.

  6. Daily Allowance, Mileage Allowance beyond 8 km
  7. Compensation in case of Holidays
  8. Fixed Conveyance Allowance
  9. Conveyance Allowance to Doctors
  10. Special Compensatory Allowances for candidates from (Tribal/Scheduled Area)
  11. Special Allowance to Railway School Teachers
