Business analysts (BAs) are tasked with closing the gap between IT and the business by evaluating processes, identifying requirements, and delivering data-driven suggestions and reports to executives and stakeholders.
To better understand how data-driven changes to processes, goods, services, software, and hardware can increase efficiencies and provide value, BAs interact with business executives and users. They must express these ideas while weighing them against what is technically, financially, and functionally realistic. You may use data sets to enhance products, hardware, equipment, software, services, or processes, depending on your function.

1. BUSINESS ANALYST LEVELS

There are four levels that a business analyst in an organization comprises of:
  • Strategic management: This is the analysis stage when a business analyst assesses and determines the whereabouts of a company from a strategic perspective. This is one of the most important levels since, without it, none of the subsequent processes will function properly.
  • Analysis of business model: This stage entails assessing the company's current operating procedures. This helps us check the old ones in addition to enabling us to apply the new ones.
  • Creating the process design Business analysts use their expertise to create, just like an artist does with his creativity. Modeling business processes as part of the phase amounts to designing and modeling.
  • Technology analysis: A thorough investigation of technical systems is also necessary. If this situation is not resolved, it will have negative effects.

2. ROLES OF A BUSINESS ANALYST

  • What a business requires: His primary duty as a business analyst is to ascertain what the stakeholders' needs are, communicate these requirements to the developers, and inform the stakeholders of the developer's expectations. For this job, a business analyst needs to have excellent communication abilities that can win over anyone. He is the one who must translate the facts into words that are meaningful as he does so. He needs to listen and act, which can seem simple, but only a competent professional can handle all of this, so this obligation is undoubtedly weighty.
  • Meetings with the development team and stakeholders: Anytime a new feature or update is added to a project, business analysts are expected to coordinate with both parties. Depending on the project, this can change. This makes it easier for the development team to introduce new features, gather customer feedback, and fix any problems that arise. The new feature upgrades are understood and explained to clients by the business analyst, who also solicits feedback for further development. The business analyst gives the development team instructions on whether to make changes based on client feedback or to proceed as is. The BA sometimes needs to assess whether a client's request to add a new feature to a project is realistic before allocating resources.
  • System potentials: A business analyst might be regarded as one of the software team members, but their primary duty is not what the group does. He must make sure he ascertains the requirements for a project. He is the one who directs the way toward the objectives. Although he may be the one who has goals in mind, he also has the skills necessary to turn those goals into reality. A business analyst excels in spotting opportunities and seizing them before they pass.
  • Present the business: He might be referred to as a company's face. A business analyst is in charge of communicating the ideas and objectives of the organization to the stakeholders. In other words, it is up to him to dazzle the stakeholders with his presentation abilities and ability to focus on what the other side is seeking rather than what the business has in store for them.
  • Give the specifics: A project entails countless minute details, many of which could be overlooked. The task of detailing a project with even the tiniest gaps or secrets is left to the business analyst. This is regarded as the most important duty of a business analyst since without providing the details, the stakeholders will not be interested, and without their participation, the project is likely to stall.
  • Project implementation: After going through all the aforementioned processes, the final and most crucial responsibility of a business analyst in agile is to carry out the plans that have been made. Execution is difficult unless the earlier processes have been handled in a systematic manner.
The project manager and the end-user are connected by the business analyst. The requirements for business analysts may vary depending on the role, and the core duties may vary from firm to business, but their primary function is to assess, evaluate, and improve processes.
