UP SI Selection Process

The candidate should keep in mind that each stage of the screening process must be completed in order to be considered for the position of UP Police SI. The following are the phases that candidates must go through throughout the selection process:
 

Stage-I: Written Examination.
Stage-II: Physical Standard Test(PST) & Document Verification.
Stage-III: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Stage-IV: Medical Examination.

UP Police SI Selection Process: Stage I


The first stage of the UP Police Sub-Inspector selection procedure is a written test. It is a purely objective paper. The paper is 2 hours long. For further information, see the table below.

UP Police SI Selection Process: Stage II

Candidates who pass the first stage will be subjected to the UP Police SI physical efficiency exam and must be physically fit. The aspirant's height and chest measures are taken into account, and they vary depending on the category.

Note: Males must have at least 5 cm of chest expansion and females must weigh at least 40 kg, as recommended by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board. In the event of female candidates, chest measures are not taken into account.

UP Police SI Document Verification

Candidates must pass the document verification stage in order to be considered for Stage III. The UP Police Board (UPPRPB) will officially release the UP Police SI Document verification list; it is noticed that papers such as Marksheet, Passport size photographs, Aadhar cards, and Pan Card are included by the UP Police Board for the verification stage. 
 

UP Police SI Selection Process: Stage III


Only those candidates who have passed the preceding screening rounds will be invited to the physical efficiency exam. The following are the specifics of the physical efficiency test:

UP Police SI Selection Process: Stage IV

This part of the selection procedure determines whether or not the candidates are physically fit. The following are some of the requirements that an applicant must meet during this stage of the selection process:

  • Eyes test (sight + colour blindness)
  • The candidates should meet with a minimum of a 6/6 or 6/9 score in the distant vision test without their eyeglasses.
  • The candidate must not squint in the eyes.
  • Hearing test for the ear.
  • Tooth test.
  • Blood test (all variants) + Urine test.
  • There should not be any physical disability in regard to the hands and legs of the candidates.
  • Knock knee test.
  • Chest x-ray.
  • Drug screening.
  • Blood pressure.
  • Electrocardiogram.

However, all candidates should keep in mind that the above-mentioned phases are just qualifying in nature. The final merit list will be compiled based on the marks obtained in the written test.

Are all stages of the UP Police SI exam qualifying in nature?

Except for the 1st stage, all other stages are qualifying in nature.

How many stages are there selection process of UP Police SI?

There are mainly four selection processes namely written examination, Physical standard test(PST) & document verification, physical efficiency test or PET, and medical examination. 

Will there be a negative marking in UP Police SI exam?

There's no mention regarding the same in the official notification. The candidates need to check the instructions regarding this in the question paper.

Is there interview in UP SI?

As the decision was taken by the department, no interview will be conducted for Sub Inspector (SI) Bharti.

What is the condition of running a race in the case of the females for the PET(Physical Efficiency Test)?

The condition for running a race in the case of females for the PET or Physical Efficiency Test is 2.4 kilometers in 16 minutes.
