- Lower Division Clerk (LDC) or Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) needs at least one year of experience before getting a promotion to the post of Assistant/ Upper Division Clerk.

- Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant needs to have at least 5 years of experience and must clear the Postmaster Grade I exam to get a promotion.
