The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) issued an official notification or advertisement on @rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in on November 27, 2021 (Saturday) for the 218 vacancies for the job of ASO or Assistant Statistical Officer. 203 of the 218 openings are in the Non Tribal Sub-Plan (Non TSP) area, while the remaining 15 are in the Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP).

The annual package for the post of Asst.Statistical Officer of the Agricultural Department is as below as per the 7th Pay Commission.
- The monthly RPSC ASO salary ranges from ₹56100 - ₹177500 (Level-11).
- The finally appointed candidates will get their per month salary according to Pay Matrix Level (L-11)
- The starting salary depends on the department that the candidate has opted for and the vacancy availability.
