If you're aiming for a career in English literature then preparing for the UGC NET exam will be the ideal test for you. The UGC NET scores are recognised by various institutes across the country for research and lectureship. In the written test, there are two sets of papers. The first paper is broad to all of the subjects tested under the UGC NET umbrella, while the second is subject-specific, containing questions in the specified subject. During the exam, the candidate must answer 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in 2 hours. In today's article, we will be going through the preparatory skills for English literature. Following are the tips to prepare for UGC NET in English in detail-

 

1- Strategise your studies.

There's no success without even a little prior planning. Schedule your topic 2 months before to score better in each section. Following is an example to schedule your studies to prepare for UGC NET in English. One may or may not use this template. 

You can divide the topics into weeks. Let's take 8 weeks (2 months)

Q1- Is there any age limit to apply for the UGC NET English exam?

Ans. There is an age limit for Junior fellowship applicants, 30 years for the general category and a 5-year relaxation for the reserved categories. There's no upper limit for Assistant Professor Openings.  

Q2- Is there any sub-section cut off for the UGC NET English exam?

Ans. No, there isn't. Only an overall cut-off list is announced.

Q3- Can you attempt the UGC NET English more than once?

Ans. Yes, a candidate can attempt the exam up to 5 times.

Q4- What is the pay scale after qualifying UGC NET English?

Ans.- The pay scale per month begins from 30000-32000 INR for the JRF qualifiers and 20000-30000 INR for Assistant professor qualifiers. 

Q5- What is the selection process for UGC NET English?

Ans.- The selection process is quite simple. The candidate must qualify for the cut off released by the UGC.
