CTET Exam Pattern
Check out the CTET exam format so that you may plan your study strategy and see clearly which topics you should pay more attention to.- There will be two phases to the CTET: Paper I for classes I through V and Paper II for classes VI through VIII.
- Each paper will contain 150 MCQs.
- There won't be any deductions for incorrect answers.
- For Paper I, the degree of difficulty will be the second stage, and for Paper II, the level of difficulty will be of senior secondary level.
- Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics, and Environmental Science make up the five components of CTET Paper 1.
- Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics/Science, and Social Studies are the four components of CTET Paper 2. The choice will be available between Maths/Science and Social Studies.
The exam pattern for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is described in the official notification. As mentioned above paper 1 is for the primary level and Paper 2 is for the upper primary. The detailed exam pattern for the CTET Exam is as follows.

CTET 2023 Exam Preparation Tips
- Time Management: Know your weaker section and focus more on that section. Set the time limit for any topic that you study. Give time to other subjects as well. Manage your time according to the time taken and less time-consuming questions to balance the time in the main exam.
- Practice Mock-Tests/ Daily Quizzes: Mock tests will help you in various ways. It helps you develop the right strategy. Solve some mock tests and revise the previous year’s questions as it can help in maintaining accuracy and speed.
- To effectively prepare for the CTET syllabus for paper 2, candidates must extensively read the NCERT books from classes 6 through 10 (of required subjects).
