What is message writing?

 A message refers to a piece of information that you jot down for a person you cannot communicate or contact at a very specific time. A message can be in form of oral communication or written communication.

Example
Suppose you were out of home for a reason. Your friend made a call and informed your sister about the cancellation after the dinner you planned for the next day. Now, your sister will write a message for you, informing you about your friend’s call, as she has to go out for taking coaching classes.

Messages can be communicated in different mediums. It can be emails, texts, phone calls, and even written notes. However, for school students, a basic form of message writing is comprised of the English curriculum. For this type of writing students need to learn about interpreting and deriving information through a conversation. Afterward, they are taught to write the basic inputs in a well-drafted format.

You must include certain crucial elements while writing a message for exams.

Heading
The heading is the first element you should begin your message writing with. The MESSAGE should be written in capital letters at the top of the answer sheet.

Date
You need to mention the date on which you are writing the message in expanded form on the left-hand side of your page.

Time
You should mention the time the message was conveyed to you by the person. Write it on the right side after the page.

Body
The body is the main element you are writing the message for.  Here, mention the details you conversed with the person. Keep it short and simple. Do not go beyond 150 words while explaining the scenario.

Sender
After jotting down the necessary information, you had with the person, write the sender’s name at the end of the page on the left side.

Word limit
It is very important for students not to go beyond the word limit while attempting Message writing. Writing within the word limit helps you gain good marks and avoid negative markings.

The standard word limit for message writing set by CBSE is 50 words.Therefore, make sure you are covering all the crucial details within 50 words while attempting Message writing.
