The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests to improve equity and quality in education by developing and administering research-based valid, reliable, efficient, transparent, fair and international level assessments. 

The CUET stands for the common University Entrance test. The test is the only way to get into 44+ central and 210+ other state, private, and deemed universities for undergraduate admission. Students who want to study at the top colleges or universities in the country must take the test and get high scores. 

Common University Entrance Test for Under Graduates has become the India's 2nd largest exam with 14.9K registrations in the first 12 months, surpassing JEE-Main's average of 9K registrations in the last 5 years. Despite presenting an extra inclusive admissions process, students have so far struggled with CUET. 

The test for getting addmission in top universities  was  conducted on May 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24 and 29, 2024.
