A black box is a device, system, or object which produces useful information, Without disturbing the information about its internal workings. Black Box is an instrument which consists of all the records of the aeroplane and with the help of the black box, you can control future plane crashes and incidents.
What is Black Box in an Aircraft?
Black Box is an instrument that notes all the activities of the aeroplane, during the flight, Black Box is also called a Flight Data Recorder. In recent times, the black box is found on almost every large or some smaller commercial airline, corporate, and private aircraft. Two black boxes were kept in the aeroplane, one on the front side, and one on the backside of the aeroplane. It stores all kinds of information and conversation about the plane. These boxes are made of stainless steel and titanium, Which are so strong and made to withstand high impact velocity or a crash impact of 3400 Gs and temperature up to 2000 degrees for at least 30 minutes. This recorder is wrapped from the inside by a thin aluminium layer and a layer of high-temperature insulation.

Why it is Helpful in Aircraft?
This device was created in view of the increasing incidence of aeroplanes crashes.
Which will give information about the reason for the accident of the aeroplane, and might well keep the aeroplane safe from the accident.
The black box is designed to be durable and withstand extreme conditions.
Black boxes are made up of stainless steel and titanium which helps to withstand the aeroplane in unfavourable conditions.

Types of Black Box In Aircraft
Aircraft have two types of boxes in the tail of the aeroplane, one is a Cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and another one is a Flight data recorder (FDR). These two black boxes have different functions in the aeroplane. If an aircraft has an accident, then to investigate that event, we use the data from the black box. Both of the boxes are installed in the aircraft, one is installed in the front of the aeroplane and the other one is installed in the tail of the aeroplane.
1. The Cockpit Voice Recorder- The first black box is called the cockpit voice recorder box which records the radio transmission and sounds in the cockpit. The recordings are made on a loop and overwrite the oldest recordings. The Cockpit voice recorder can record up to 30 minutes of audio.
CVR keeps two microphones one for each pilot. These microphones can record and detect sounds in the cockpit such as engine oil, pilot conversations, and warnings from the aircraft system. The top part of the cabin is equipped with various microphones. Earlier CVR was used as an analogue storage system that can only record and store about 2 hours of audio. The modern CVR uses a digital storage system that can store up to 25 hours of audio. The quality of the audio recording is very high and can be used to identify voices.
2. The Flight Data Recorder- The second box is the flight data recorder which records the parameters related to the flight like Attitude, airspeed and Heading. FDR also keeps information about the operation related to aircraft systems such as the use of flaps and landing gear. The data which is recorded in FDR is used to help investigate accidents and incidents.
The Flight Data Recorder have a solid-state memory device and a digital data recorder. The memory device of FDR stores data in non-volatile memory, which means that the data is not lost when power is lost. There is also a digital data recorder which records data in format form that a computer can read. FDR is located in the tail section of the aeroplane. The FDR is stored in a container that is made of stainless steel and titanium. According to the Federal Aviation Administration or the FAA, the FDR should be able to record at least 25 hours of data. All the data recorded in FDR is used to help prevent future accidents and incidents.
How does a Black Box work?
Previously we already said that Black Box is made up of strong metals like steel and titanium which gives strength to withstand any shock in unfavourable situations like falling from a height or in the sea. It can work for 30 days without any electricity. Withstands high temperatures up to 2000 degrees for at least 30 minutes. Black Box helps to elucidate the cause of accidents and to find ways to prevent them. If this box is lost anywhere, it is continuously emitting waves along with a beep sound for about 30 days. These emitted waves and beep sound voices can be identified by the investigators from a distance of about 2-3 kilometres. Black boxes can also emit waves from a depth of 14000 feet in the sea.
