The computer-based test (CBT) is the first stage of the RRB Group D Exam.
The syllabus for CBT includes questions from the following subjects:

- General Awareness and Current Affairs

RRB Group D Syllabus for General Science
Questions in this section are asked from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Questions are basic (10th level).
Questions in physics are asked about work and motion, Lens, Work energy, Electricity, etc.
Chemistry will include Basic Reactions, chemistry in everyday life, periodic tables, Acid Bases and salt.
Biology will comprise both plant & human analogy.

- A total of 100 questions are asked.
- Questions are objective.
- The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.
- Each question carries one mark.
- There is a negative marking and 1/3 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern: Physical Efficiency Test
Candidates who clear the CBT exam are called for the Physical Efficiency Test based on their scores and merit.
The total number of candidates called for PET is three times the total number of vacancies announced in the official notification.
The criteria for PET are as follows:

Candidates who qualify for CBT and PET will be called for verification of their documents.
The total number of candidates called for document verification will be twice the number of total vacancies.
