Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Eligibility Criteria Overview

The exam's eligibility is broadly based on the following criteria. Each candidate must satisfy all the criteria to be eligible to appear for the exam, except in case he/she is permitted any relaxation.

(5 Yrs relaxation for SC/ST and 3 Yrs for OBC)

(5 Yrs relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army or Navy or Air Force)

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Eligibility Criteria - Educational Qualification

Following are the educational qualifications for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant-
 
Post Educational Qualification
General Duty

(i) Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (i.e. 1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech Course or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree candidates wherever applicable).

(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XIIth of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with 60% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics. {Candidates not in possession of Physics and Maths in 10+2 (intermediate) or equivalent level are not eligible for General Duty (GD)}.

CPL SSA The candidates must have qualified 12th.
Technical (Engineering & Electrical)

(i) Engineering degree with 60% marks in aggregate or Should have passed Sections A and B examination from the Institution of Engineers (India) in any of the discipline listed below with 60% marks:- 

(a) Engineering Branch. Naval architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace. 

(b) Electrical Branch. Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engg. Or Power Electronics.

All the above streams of Engg. Must be recognized by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). 

(ii) At least 60% marks in aggregate in Physics and Maths in 12th class.

OR

Three-year diploma course with an aggregate of 60%.

Law Officer The candidates must have a Degree in Law.

 

Note-
  • Candidates who appeared in the final year or final semester exam and are awaiting results are eligible to apply as long as they don't have any back paper. Only at the time of the final selection board should such candidates be permitted to submit a provisional or original degree certificate issued by the university.
  • Candidates who have been expelled for bad behaviour from another service training academy are not eligible to participate.
  • Candidates shouldn't have been detained, adjudicated guilty of, or subjected to criminal proceedings.
  • Reserved category candidates may still apply as unreserved in the event that there are no openings for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy)/EWS category candidates; however, they will not be qualified for any age or passing mark concessions or relaxations. Only SC/ST candidates will not need to pay an application fee.
