The Indian Air Force has released the official notification for AFCAT (II) 2021. Candidates can apply for AFCAT (II) 2021 till June 30, 2021.
AFCAT online test is scheduled to be held on August 28, 29 and 30, 2021. Air Force Common Admission Test is conducted to recruit candidates to serve as officers in the Indian Air Force in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. A total of 334 vacancies have been announced for AFCAT (II) 2021. For AFCAT (I) 2021, total of 241 vacancies were announced.

Ground Duty (Technical) AE(L) : Permanent Commission-20, Short Service Commission-78
AE(M) : Permanent Commission-08 ,Short Service Commission-31
Ground Duty (Non -Technical) Administration: Permanent Commission -10, Short Service Commission-42
Education: Permanent Commission-04, Short Service Commission-17
NCC Special Entry Flying Branch 10% seats out of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC
Meteorology Entry Permanent Commission-06, Short Service Commission-22 
 
The vacancies are tentative and are subject to changes without notice. Candidates are selected based on requirements, various cadre control mechanisms, availability of training slots, and the actual number of vacancies.

Types Of Commission in Air Force through AFCAT

Permanent Commission for Men: Candidates joining as PC officers continue to serve till the age of superannuation as per their branch and rank.

 
Short Service Commission for Men and Women: The engagement period for Flying Branch SSC officers is fourteen years from the date of commissioning. The initial tenure for SSC officers in Ground Duty for both technical and non-technical branches would be for a period of ten years. Extension of four years may be granted but it will be subjected to the suitability, willingness, service requirement, and vacancies available.
